Actually I have a Mazda 3 and it has the same tranny as the protege so this should work good then. Thanks for the info. Oh what year protege and model is yours? Thanks

Redline gets :bigthumb: from me. Changed it out today, when I went to go buy it Summit didnt have the MT-90 so I grabbed the 75-90. Anyone know the difference in the two? It still feels better then it did, I'm happy with the short-shifter now.

MT-90 is an SAE 75W-90 oil so you've got the viscosity right. However, Red Line 75W-90 Gear Oil is not the equivalent, or correct, replacement for MT-90 oil in our Protege transmissions. Red Line 75W-90 contains friction modifiers that make the oil too slippery for rapid and optimal synchro engagement. The proper Red Line oil (short of MT-90) is their 75W-90NS Gear Oil that does not contain friction modifiers and therefore insures optimal synchro engagement.
