reactive intake?
 

anyone got info on this?

good/bad? I was gonna get a cold air intake but was told that with the weather and temperatures here in canada it can sometimes be better just ot get a regular intake, is this BS??

the Reactive is cheap 149 CDN I believe, but you get no instructions and its not bolt on like AEM or INjen. My friend has one and his vibrates and makes noises, I have a AEM and I don't have any problems with vibrating noise or anything.

I just installed mine this weekend, it did vibrate a bit but I soon figured out what was causing it. If u don't position it properly, it rubs against this silver thing under the struts tower bar. You know this when you step on your brake and you feel the brake paddle vibrating tha'ts a sign it is touching. Move it right away, I drove around only a bit like that and i have a huge gash on the side of the polished tube. Overall, I am very happy with the intake, it does give the car a better throttle response and it was cheap. 120 CDN tax in.

the ractive intake IS a direct bolt-on just position it right and you will have no probs, also it feels the same as the aem, a friend has a aem one and it is the same feel, sound hp gain everything so go for the ractive because it is cheaper :)

i do think its bs. if the weather is the only thing thats holding you back get a aem bypass valve for the injen intake. not being rude but just stating the facts

okay another quesiton for the guys the iteh reactive intake..

I've heard that having a non cold air intake can be a pain due to the fan blowing air into the intake and really screwing with your idle.. I've been told thats not much of a problem for imports because they are designed more for aftermarket parts than a domestic car... anyone had any problems with the idle??

I first had a short ram intake but i've change it for a custom CAI and the results are great!!!! I'm now finishing the upper upper part of the intake.

Does anyone know what make of filter comes with the Ractive intake?
I was considering making my own since this guy at a performance shop can sell me everything I need including a K&N cone for like $160cdn.

Ractive just comes with a basic cone filter. Like K&N just not as good.

Cuz its from Taiwan doesn't mean its not good. For all I know it has more surface area, hence more airflow than a comparably sized KN.

if i were you i would get the Injen CAI, just my 2¢, i have one and i love it! paid 425 for it though lol :eek:

i must say that if you are worried about harsh weather conditions get an AEM bypass valve it will allow cold air to still come in without any water, snow, sleet, or any other shit for that matter. they tested it in a magizine i think it was sport compact car on a acura nsx. first they made some piping for the intake put the bypass valve on then conected the other rest of the piping and filter onto it. after that the submerged the air filter comtletly into a fish tank full of water and started er up and 0% of the water went into the engine they used plastic pipes so you could see exacally where the water stopped and it was at the point where they put the AEM bypass valve.

I have the ractive intake in my Protege 2nd gen and have had no problems with it , I also use the heat shield filter wich is a great filter

a friend of mine has the injen intake and I have the ractive intake and there is no difference in power from driving one to the other
