re: Protege 5 rev limiter???

I have been told from many people that the 2.0 l has a rev limiter around 7100'ish. I have been told that when you hit the limiter, the fuel will be cut off, or the engine will hold the RPM limit.

I have taken the engine close to 7k a couple times but usually shift around 6200 when needed. Someone told me to try and see where mine kicks in. Yesterday I swear to god I hit 7300 and nothing happened. I just shifted to second.....I really don't want to over rev the engine, but am wondering when it kicks in in other 2.0 l's.

Thanks.....

ive hit the rev limiter it was about about 7300 7400 rpm.

i jsut wnated to see where it was at. it did what they normally do it jsut kidna bounces the rpms. i was at a dead stop and i baerely noticed it. so if your driving your definitly not going to hear it.

Well on my zx2 just before the rev limiter kicks in I hear the engine go to a high pitch lean and thats my signal to shift.
