ram air

did everyone's P5 come witht hat crap ram air thing that goes over the radiator. i'm removing mine and making a tube to get cold air under the car that'll lead to the filter box where the crappy ram air thing used to lead to.

hmmm

dont you mean the resonator? I think that traps water....or something.

i'm not sure what it is. theres just some like plastic thing with an open end bhind the grill that leads to the air filter. i've never seen it before so i'm not sure what it is

yea ..... I believe , its like the air filter resonator....... I think it acts as a reservoir. Prevents water from enter the air filter , which in turn ...would enter the throttle body, and so on and so forth.

It does not ram air at all. It litterly blocks it. The hood shuts right on the air intake pick up. This setup is very restrictive. I believe it also reduces intak noise. Run a search. Some guys have cut the pick up and drilled holes in the filter box.

I'd be one of those guilty parties. Try it for yourself! You won't believe what a huge difference it'll make!

It is a resonator........the trap for water is just before filter box.

It is a resonator........the trap for water is just before filter box and after this piece.

This piece really robs power and really does not pull any true cool air.
