questions,questions

hey guys

I was looking into going N/A but can't seem to find anything that will make my car pass emissions,
So I was wondering a few things,
Turbo, what do I have to have in order to install it (pistons, cams what not)
Supercharger is one coming out for the p5?
Any aftermarket ecu's coming out for the p5?
I want it faster, a friend of mine just got a vw Corrado and I would like to keep up to him

thanks for all of the info

1) Tri-Turbo and Callaway have turbo's for our cars...
2) no super's that i know of...
3) rumor has it that AEM is almost finished making an ECU for our cars.... but i don't know how true that is...
4) J-Spec FSZE Cams/Pistons from corksport...

but then again, i'm still quite new to all this so i dunno! :p

cams aren't required at all, and pistons are not REQUIRED...if you keep the boost at a manageable level.....say no more than about 8 psi....if you want to get serious with it...then yes...forged pistons and stronger rods are a must.

to really get the HOT POOP on turbos...hop over into the FORCED INDUCTION forum and start reading....there is tons of good information over there. :D

any idea's how much that ECU will be going for???

That AEM ECU is mythical just like the headers I'm waiting for, but if it is released it will be sweet. And if it's like the Honda units I've seen, it's plug and play, preprogramed, has a well documented instruction manual, and a GUI so easy anyone could understand it. The GUI even displays 3D graphics. Programming changes are so quick and easy, dyno runs can be done back to back for rapid tuning. I've heard it runs $1600 to 1800 depending on the application.

For a less expensive option, check out the 'Dyno, cams, exhuast' thread in section for the Dastek unichip.

good Idea I wanted a chip made for this car but they don't make a unichip for this car?

The Unichip will work on almost any car, including ours. Look up the dealer nearest you and give them a call.
