putting my car in reverse

Well I just got a Mp5 in September and only since November has my car been giving me trouble when i try to put it in reverse... Its as if someone placed a block infront of the gear... it just don't want to go sometimes weather its hot or cold it don't matter its just stuborn. Has anyone else had this problem besides shifting to 2nd?

This happens on a ton of cars, truck, planes, squirrels etc...

(kidding)

Anyway, it happened to me in quite a few cars and an old indian trick I was taught was to first toss the shifter up into 5th (without attempting to drive) and immediately slide it into reverse.

This method has solved the problem 99.8% of the time. I hope it works for ya.

Hello Slick and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

This is perfectly normal for our cars....for the reasons mentioned above....it even mentions in our cars manual that on occation you will have this happen and to move the shifter back into the neutral postion let the clutch out, push it back in and try again....

I have a 01 sedan, same thing, Ive noticed it is definetly worse when cold (sometimes it takes more than 2 or 3 tries), but Im not worried about. its more annoying then any thing, especially when im late for work:p

like sir nuke said, just disengage the clutch , engage it again then it should work.
