problem with car
 

I put in a cold air intake on my 2000 dx pro, but it bogs a bit after going past 65 mph. There is also a lost of power after 65 and cant get past 85mph with the gas to the floor. I've checked for leaks in the intake but there isnt any. and i've cleaned and checked the MAF. Any idea what the problem is.

hmmmmmm maybe your maf is fried???? just a guess, if there is no leaks i have no clue.

auto or manual??

Maybe disconnect battery for 10 minutes to reset the ECU? It's too hard to tell what it could be from those details.

I bet cleaning the MAF sensor probably killed it. It's extremely sensitive, so don't touch it (this is what I hear, never tried it to see what happens).

What kind of intake did you get? Did the bogging start immediately after the intake install?

how does it rev through out the rest of the power band??? like in first and second, and so on, is it smooth revving, or does it bog then too??

I've fixed the problem. My car was misfiring, so i changed the spark plugs and changed to ngk spark wires. I can push past 65mph now, but it still bogs a little at 4000rpm. It also bogs at lower rpms when i smash on the gas.

It bogs at low rpm cause it doesnt have loads of power, but it shouldnt bog at 4000, that's the start of the power band
