AEM is only making SHORT RAM intakes for the 2.0 liter engine. this thing is NOT a true cold air intake system.

That intake will also fit a second gen protege,, also ,, all the bends are right , maybe I will purchase one in the near future and see how it works out

Just make sure it clears your brake master cylinder. I have the same intake on my '00 ES, and it's closer to the master cylinder. That's interesting actually, it looks like the entire engine is moved a bit towards the passenger side of the car to accomadate the G15M-R transaxle instead of the F25M-R on the '99 -'00 1.8L Pros.
