Phantom Grip questions from newbie
 

I was wondering if some of you that have a Phantom Grip LSD conversion kit installed on your third gen could tell me a few things (which might be interesting to other readers)

1) I just need to confirm that the 902x-treme listed for the '02 MP5 will work for all third gens w/ 2.0L engine and a 5-speed (I've an 02 ES sedan) It runs about $350 retail.

2) As much as it pains me to admit, the install is beyond my home facilities and mechanical abilities, but I also figure labor is gonna put a hurt on the wallet... Installation cost/ball park estimates for installing a Phantom Grip on the East Coast/Virginia?

3) I already experience torque steer often without any real power adders. How would you rate this mod in terms of performance, improved corner exit, cost effectiveness, safety and reliability on the transmisson?

I like my car and all, but I'm not in competition...its my daily driver ES. Since I probably can't do that kind of work myself...$$$...I'd be better off to upgrade to an MSP, or wait for a MS3 or get that Nissan SE-R thing :barf:

What do you guys mean "when it's new"....how does this wear out? I'd be interested in this even if it only helps out partially. I'd rather spend $350 for a psuedo-diff than $1200+ for the Quaiffe

They wear quickly and easily.
They do not stand up well to abuse.
The Quaiffe is a much better value.
You get what you pay for.
