Opinons on this "intake"
i took all of the plastic stuff off of the stock intake leaving a hole in the box right under the filter...
The car sounds deeper and better under acceleration if i decide to stay with this i'll get a k&n and toss it in there (im feeling poor, don't feel like buyin an Injen or AEM) Thoughts? comments? |
Haha, dude i posted a thread about this a couple weeks ago. I still have it on, and i LOVE the sound. I realized that it would probably make performance worse because the whoel was right behind the rad, but it was worth the sound. From my calculations for the last 4 or 5 tanks, i've noticed that my average miles per gallon has gone from about 26-27 to 24.5 consistently, so i think this mod has a BIG ASS impact on mileage, maybe because it rapes the low-end torque.
Have fun :P |
Wow, 24.5 MPG must suck....I've been consistantly getting 30.5 to 31.5 MPG. Just spend the $40 and get an e-bay intake.

Man That was one of the first things I did as well, sounds great K&N filter worked well as it should, but I went with a Megan Racing intake after that and it works fine. The intake was not very expensive, Go ahead and buy one from ebay it is worth it.:blue:

i got one of the e-bay intakes for $50 USD shipped. Was easy to install and sounds great. i just took a 375 mile trip w four people in my car and skies on the top and got 30 MPG. that was going 75 MPH and some back road mountain driving. i usually get around 25 MPG driving around the city.
