No Name Exhaust
Anyone running a generic or odd ball exhaust? If so how is it and what kind? Just wondering.

Originally posted by PseudoRealityX Ive got a custom one done at a local exhaust shop, finished with a Magnaflow muffler. I think its a much better deal than ANY aftermarket system, due to price. Just curious. I'm not personally familiar with this brand of muffler. |
I'm using a borla spitfire...there is a nice rumble when you want it.

I heard a Talon with the magnaflow duel canister muffler & it sounded like a bunch of pissed off bubble bee's

i got 2.25 custom piping running from my headers back. Then i got a vibrant muffler with 4" outlet. For the price. I like it. I only spent $225. But i kinda wish i didn't take the resinator off. Kinda. I mean everyone says it sounds better now but i think it sounds like a inline four with straight pipes. (that's essentually what it is). But i ve gotten use to it. Its a deep sound with some gurrgles in it when you slow down or down shift.

I think I'm gonna go the generic custom job but I really don't want the bubble bee in a coffee can sound. I guess I'll live and learn. Does anyone have an idea for a good sounding exhaust?

Inexpensive exhaust with attitutde!
I have a 2 1/4" exhaust system but I kept a resonator pipe...it's for a pickup truck or something...it has 2 1/4 inlet/outlet. The piping is 2 1/4" S/S and the muffler is a BroSpeed/Bosal high flow, not straight through design. It was all bent up at a local exhaust shop. The complete system cost me $500 including taxes (but that's canadian dollar$) It sounds good...a low rumble not like a coffee can/bumble bee! It's low like a half a 5.0L Mustang. I don't get burbles or backfires on decel. and it idles smooth.
