new mazda3 2.0l head on old 2.0l
 

i am just wondering if anyone knows if the variable valve timing head on the new three will fit on the old 2.0l? or if there isd a head like that from japan that can be had.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit, but you'd also need to replace ecu and various other sensors to make it work correctly. Probably not worth it for 18hp.

1. The 2.0 in the 3 does NOT have variable valve timing, only the 2.3 does.

2. The 2.0 in the 3 is a completely new engine design than the 3rd gen. Mostly nothing between these two engines should be able to swap.
