new kid on the block

hey whats up everyone im new here so i jus wanted to take the oppertunity to say hi. anyway i have a question. i currently own a 2000 mazda protege wich as you all probobly already know, it has a 1.8l engine. i want to do alot of upgrades but im having a hard time finding parts. my question is wil parts like an intake manifold, fuel injectors and rail, along with other bolt on parts for an '01 work even though it has a 2.0l engine? thanks for the help

I'm not sure which specific things you can swap, but I believe theirs a fair amount. The 3rd gen protege's have come in three engine sizes, the 1.6, the 1.8, and the 2.0. The 1.8 is just a de-stroked 2.0, so I know some things work, but not sure which...

Check out this thread for a list of parts available:

Someone will probably chime in with extra help...

the main differences between the FP and FS motors are the rods and crank....the coil packs are different too, but they are still interchangeable....other than that most other 2.0L parts will swap out....

Im pretty sure that I heard a 2.0 header will fit the 1.8

Kind of...I think the EGR valve is in a slightly different position. It can be manipulated to fit, but Thunder makes a 1.8L-specific header.
No one has bought or even inquired about one so I can't say with 100% positivity...
