New catback!

We are in the development stages for a new catback for the 2.0L protege sedans. The exhaust utilizes a smaller N1 style muffler and 2.5" piping. Sound clips, and dyno charts will be provided once the final product is done being tested and redefined. The cost will be under $400. My question is, how many of you would be interested in purchasing a this type of catback. Gains in HP are estimated at 4 to 6RWHP.

BTW, this is currently the only product we have in the lineup for proteges as we are mainly concerned w/ building parts for drag cars, but if you have suggestions, just let me know and I'll see what we can come up with.

hmmm if it works with my 1.8L then ye, I might be willing to get one of the exhausts if the price and gains are right

also you mean 4 - 6 FWHP not RWHP

I would be interested....

I am currently looking for a decent exhaust, but I hate loud annoying "hornet's nest" types. I am not hugely concerned about the power but the claimed gain would be fine.

ok, now how about a "downpipe"?

that's one of the most restrictive part of the stock system!

Installshield February-8th-2003 08:42 PM

Or a 4-2-1 header specifically for a Protege...

Yea this is what I would change FIRST!!

Anybody really look under their car?

Anybody really see how small and crushed it is?

The est gains that I mentioned(4 to 6) greatly would depend on what else is done to the car, we really won't know until we get it dynoed. On a stock car you should see at least a 3Fwhp gain,lol...sorry for the F and R mixup..I'm so used to saying RWHP. As for the header setup, that will probably be more cost for us then the worth honestly, the exhaust on these cars from the motor to the cats/etc is pretty complicated and honestly, theres a better chance of us creating a downpipe/presilencer setup then a set of headers. As for the 1.8 w/ our current design, I wouldn't know as the test vehicle is my '03 2.0L , but as long as the mounting points and flanges are the same on both motors, this catback should work.

i would like 4-6 rwhp :D

mp3wannabe February-11th-2003 02:25 PM

yeah if this system could give us even 1rwhp then its worth it..lol..have a semi-awd or something. yeah, i got 100fwhp, and 3Rwhp.

RotaryMan88 February-12th-2003 07:30 PM

lol...i already apologized for the rwd mistake, lol!

check out my new thread for more updates on this exhaust...

but please keep voting if you haven't already!
