Need Part # Help!

Ok, so stupid me changed out my stock shifter for the Kartboy one. Not thinking, I put everything back together. Everything, but the 2 little bushings where the shift rod bolts to the shifter iteslf. They fit inside the end of the shift lever where it bolts up to the shift rod. I checked with my local (know nothin) parts dept. and he said I have to purchase the whole shifter/shift rod/shifter mounting assembly to get those parts. I am not about to do that as that does not make much sense to me. Before I head of to the local junkyard to see if I can find some, does anyone know or can get the part # for me. I would greatly appreciate it.

And if you can get that part #, how about a # for the teflon bushings in the shifter mount. The ones under the Snap Ring, there are 2.

Thnaks in advance.

no, the bushings they sell are different than the ones rider needs.

The way I see it, you have 3 options:
1) track down the part numbers and buy from dealer
2) find someone who installed a B&M shifter who doesn't
need their bushings anymore and buy theirs.
3) Return the Kartboy shifter and get a B&M shifter yourself.

I just ordered new ones from Corksport, they sold me half the kit (the part that I need hopefully) for $15. I should have them this week. Thanks PseudoRealityX.

your option #3 won't work.....those bushings are reused from your stock shifter for BOTH the kartboy shifter and the B&M.....

but i DO have a question....what happened to them? where is your stock shifter? did you just throw it all in the trash after you yanked it out?

Nuke i don't think you have to reuse those teflon bushings with the B&M. The brass bushing that came with it replaced those two white teflon bushings from stock.

I am an idiot who misreads posts.:D

oh duh, I was thinking of the wrong bushings. See what happens when you don't read the post carefully! :o

I wanted to ask the same question but didn't know quite how phrase it "nicely". Thanks Nuke.

What I think happened is that in between taking out the stock shifter and putting in the Kartboy, thing got moved around (wife had to get some things out of the garage). I still have the stock shifter, but the bushings seem to have misplaced or thrown out all together. All is ok as I have the Bronzoil (sp) ones coming from Corksport.

well I don't know about the B&M you may have gotten...but MINE didn't come with brass bushings....the instructions have you REUSING the teflon or whatever they are bushings at the bottom where the bolt goes through.

Rider, do you have a link to where you got those bushings from?

arl240 August-28th-2002 09:39 AM

That's why I am an idiot who misreads posts. I thought (wrongly, b/c of the aforementioned idiocy) that he was talking about the two white rings that went around the ball, not the little green/brown bushings on the linkage. My bad.

http://www.corksport.com/

You have to click on the Protege/Familia Link, then 90-94 Interior.
The part Number is prt-9-003. It is actually a 4 piece set, the 2 bushings where the shift linkage meets the shifter and where the linkage meest the trans. So, if you don't already have the Kartboy bushings, go ahead and order the whole set. Otherwise, they split the order and charged half for the set I needed.
