MSP #3 mount...

Well, I recieved an e-mail from my dealer, and the parts department tells me that the MSP motor mount will not fit on the P5... there must be someone out there that did this swap. I'm sure I read it somewhere on this forum, but I would like a clear cut, from experience testimonial.

Thank-you...

If you are refering to the mount on passenger side, I have done the swap, straight change. I ordered mine from MazdaStuff.com. Talk to Richard.

They told you it will not fit because Mazda doesn't want anybody who owns a non-MS protege to turn their car into one. I found out that the dealerships will only sell parts for the MSP if you provive them with a VIN for the MSP. You need to find a buddy yho owns a MSP or buy the parts from aftermarket suppliers.

Hmmm, I smell a conspiracy... thanks for the assurance it fits. I will try my dealer again. Otherwise I have a friend with an MSP, and I'll have to get him to order it, if he can.

what city are you from?....i had no problem ordering one from performance mazda in ottawa...still haven't installed it though...me lazy bastard

I am dealing with Performance Mazda in Ottawa (Orleans), and I recieved a quote for $128.86, but they are saying that the part#'s are the same for the 2.0L Protege, Protege5, MP3, and Mazdaspeed Protege mounts. They have three in stock...

Perhaps nightowl could get me the part number from the mount that you have not installed yet, as well as the price you paid? I can then get back to them a little more informed...

Could anyone take a picture of the mount and post it here? Then I could compare it to the one in the car. Has anyone closely compared the two? Or does the parts department not have a clue?

Here is the part # I ordered.

It fits and I and MSP one is different from the protege one

Thanks everyone, I will be checking with Mazda if that part # matches the part # that they quoted me (they gave me a price, no part #) I'll let you know the response I get...

nightowl:

I just checked the mount in my P5, and it looks exactly the same as the one in the pictures you posted, including the "B26K" molded on the side, with the exception of having a white dot where yours has a blue dot...

I'm going to have a friend of mine take some shots of his motor mount in his MSP, and we'll all see what they look like.

Of topic... what kind of windshield mod are you doing?

a223818 December-1st-2003 07:39 PM

They will look the same. It is a stiffer rubber apparently.
