Motor Mounts for 2.0l

Hi,

I remember some time ago reading a post by TheMan about using the MSP #3 mount. I've searched & searched and can't find it.

What I want is to reduce some of the engine twist. I am an engineer, and am somewhat skilled. I use my car for daily driving.

What I'm looking for is some experience and guidance to answer some of the following questions:

1) Which of the mounts are the easiest to change & why?
2) Which will give the best benefit, but without making the vibrations too great?
3) Which aftermarket mounts would you recommend for my situation as described?

Thanks for any help, and/or a link back to the aforementioned thread!

I have looked into this greatly. Replace both motor mounts with AWR (automatic/soft) mounts. The front is easy, the rear is an all-day affair. The vibration will be present but not as bad as the stiffer bushings. Plus, the auto bushings will soften up some with age and mellow out while still providing engine control.

Aren't there actually 3 motor mounts? Should I ignore the #3 one on the side? Replace it with the MSP one?

What about my car which is a 5 speed?

Thanks for the help!!

There are actually 4 mounts....2 motor 2 tranny. The automatic and manual bushings are identical...the manuals have stiffer rubber because of clutch dumps...the auto doesnt need as harsh a ride so they are softer!!

No prob, I'm here to help.
