Motor Mount Bushings

I have a problem with CD's skipping (factory 6-disc changer) at high idle. After the engine warms up, the problem goes away. I think it may be due to the added vibration from my AWR front mount. I have the 88DM bushings, and I was wondering if anyone had the same issue. Also does anyone have the harder 95Dm bushings, and if so, what do you think of them. (might change them out, it's only 6 bucks!)

I don't have the problem with the mounts making the cd's skip but I have had clutch chatter make the cd skip!!

I rode in Topher's p5 with the AWR front and rear MT mounts and it was fine. I didn't notice any "severe" vibrations at all....of course you can feel the engine vibrate more at a low idle but anything above 800rpms is just like stock.

Just fyi, (and a little off topic), I'm going to be designing new side mounts for the 3rd gens. I think replacing the front alone causes the rear to wear out prematurely so I'm going to come up with a set of mounts for both sides that will be easier to install and hopefully help cut down on harsh engine wiggle.

I also do not think the vibrations are harsh at all. I may get the rear mount instead of stiffer bushings. I've heard it's tough to put in, but it can't be as bad as removing/installing mounts in the new Civic Si. (biggest pain in ass ever!)

your laser just might be dirty. try cleaning it out to see if that helps.

It's definitely linked to vibrations. if i blip the throttle it goes away until it settles back down. also if i put it in gear a release the clutch a bit to drop the revs it goes away. I will clean it and see if it helps though. thanks

Tony has 70 durometer bushings now available as a replacement, plus he has inserts for both side engine mounts on his website.
