MIL eliminator

I have a quick question about the MIL eliminator i have because i have the awr header. Does the mil eliminator make the engine ruch richer or leaner than it would without it and if so, do u think that i am losing gas milage and "horsepower" with this in there. I spray nitrous, and i have been having problems with it misfiring once and a while. i have 2 ranges colder spark plugs also. havent sprayed for a while now, but i was wondering if the eliminator could tell the computer to run leaner than it should be. i dont know if this makes sense, but i appreciate any comments. thanks in advance. craig.

please please please be very careful.... With a header and NO mil your car will run very rich. This is because the ecu does not see the cat as being "warmed up" so it dumps extra fuel into to heat it up quicker. With a wet nitrous kit AND this condition you're running your fuel system DANGEROUSLY close to it's limits and potential failure.

What size shot are you running on your zex wet? I lvoe zex and know a good deal about them so I can help you set all that up properly.

To answer your question when you install the MIL your car will run leaner but not any leaner than stock.

p.s. lean+nitrous = VERY bad

i am only running the 55 shot because i dont want to push the motor. so with the mil eliminator and nitrous the car should be alright or should i be weary of spraying. also, do you have any idea why it would misfire. it usually misfired in the top of second beggining of third. it only does it once and a while though and i cant seem to figure out why. one night it misfired, so i waited around the whole night until i was about to go in, sprayed again, and it pulled no problem up to top of third gear where i shut it down, because i was goin a little fast on the road. again thank you in advance for your input. one idea that i had was that the mass air flow sensor read that the air was real cold, advanced the timing, and that is why it misfired. i have the jet after the mass air flow like your supposed to, but i have the injen intake so the metal gets real cold real fast. could this be why? who knows!

I think a 55hp shot is a little much for a stock block protege. By adding the MIL you put less strain on your fuel system and thats a good thing. When you say it misses do you mean a "dead miss" like a plug isn't firing or do you mean a knock/ping like it's detonating? If it is a REAL miss you're probably flooding out your spark with so much fuel. This should be fixed with the MIL.

I actually sell these and will have some ready to ship out by the end of the week for $15 a piece. simple 2 wire installation and you'll be all set

i already have a mil eliminator from apex motorsports. i have had it in since i put the header on. when i say it misses, you could feel the car lose power for a second, than the check engine light will blink a few times and then stay solid. when i went to get the codes pulled, it said it was a misfire. i barely ever use nitrous. i might go through a bottle once every month month and a half depending on whats goin on. i am also very careful with it. i only use it when theres a need, never just for the hell of it. this car needs to last for a little bit

holy crap man....I'd think you're having some sort of fueling problem. You could be washing the spark out (doubtful) or causing other serious problems. When does this check engine light come on? When you use the nitrous? If so, you need to remove it ASAP and sell it off.

If you were just going to use a small shot I'd say to just get a nice Zex dry kit. I've never had a problem with a zex dry but I've seen several wet kits pop motors.

yes it only comes on when i use nitrous, but it does not come on everytime i use nitrous. my kit is for sale now and it has been for sale, im just waiting for someone to buy it. i want to go FI aka WOMP but i need to sell this kit first. do u have any idea what it could be thanks craig

it's most likely something to do with the strain on the fuel system. You could be washing out the spark but I dont know for sure.

Use the non-fouler method. What you do is buy a pack of spark plug non-foulers (part 42002 at autozone)

Drill one out (in this picture, drill the small hole with a 1/2" bit on the right fouler) so the O2 sensor screws in, and then screw both into the header. No soldering needed, much less work, and I've got 600 miles with no CEL where as my MIL eliminator was giving me CELs a lot.
