MHP CF Intake?

What do you guys think of the CF CAI Intake that MHP is selling? Is it a good deal or should I wait for AEM to make one? I really want a freaking CAI but not sure about the Injen one.

If your a hands on kinda guy, that intake can be easily replicated, using universal mandrel bends. My sugestion is 2.5"
That and a few silicone adapters and your in business, for a lot less than $100 complete!

AEM already makes one but they wont be doing it CAI. Only short ram. But I honestly am really impressed with the Injen intake. Got them in this week & got one installed on my car. They did a great job. These couple of people giving Injen a bad name because of problems they had with the intake on Pros arent really doing much to help us all figure out the problem (I dont mean all of them so dont jump on me if you had problems!) Injen has tried to figure out whats going on but havent had much help in it. So far, I havent heard of other problems & the majority of the problems I've heard where people trying to fabricate an Injen intake not made for their engine so it would fit theirs. This doesnt work or Injen would sell it that way. Theres a reason Injen says the intake is for a 1.6L intake & not a 1.8 or 2.0!! So, the new 2.0L intake for the Protege5, MP3, & 2001 Protege seems to work great. Again, I say Injen did a wonderful job designing this one & I feel its going to be the best out there for its job.

MHP CAI

I have one on my MP3, and it is great! When riding with the radio off, I noticed it kind of sounds like a damn Blow off valve when i shift!:D Also there is a nice roar from the engine compartment when pushin the gas!! When I ge a new engine I hope to be riding tight, but until then, I can only dream of that roar.:(

i bought the MHP CF intake off a group buy through Automotive R&D, and when i got it, the f**kin' son of a b**ch didn't fit right. my pops and i had to do some extremely choice words. but, after that, and about maybe an hour of b**chin', complaining and such, we got the bastard on. i just wanted the CF one. We put the Injen one on my mom's, the SOB went in in almost 20 minutes, while the ram air (not short ram) went in in about 30. i like the ram air though. i don't remember where we got it, but the little bugger is f**kin' bad f**kin' ass. the best of both worlds!! Cold Air and Short Ram!! i'll post some pics when i find some...but yeah, stay FAR FAR AWAY FROM MHP!!!

I agree, I was dissappointed in the fitment, not the appearance. We had to do a little cutting on a pipe to get the bends to work perfectly.

Wheelguuruu knows the whole procedure, as he did it for the both of us. If the kit was available how we ended up modding it I would say it's a great kit for a good price.

If you don't mind cutting, then let me know and i'll have Sean do a write up for you so you're not taking it in and out.

Rishie

By the way, I'm NEVER selling that intake again until they work on pricing better and have yet to receive the darn info I requested to get the CARB certs done. I doubt I'll ever get it and that was a major thing for me.

Yeah,

I got off of work one morning, and drove to MHP and installed it myself. It took me a couple of hours, because:
1. My inexperience
2. The fitting.

It was a real bitch to get in there. For as much as I payed, everything should be perfect, but it wasn't.
