Mazdaspeed Headers

Has anyone here actually installed the mazdaspeed headers?

Hello,

As far as I know nobody has put the header on. The reason being is that it'll cost us about $1000 and then we have to do some sort of modification to make it fit. Lot of money to spend to on something that doesnt fit correctly. I was told that the exhaust plumbing was a little different from Japan vs. U.S. and that is why the modification is needed. Maybe something to do with the right-hand-drive.

I do have a couple ?'s for you. Are cars in Australia right-hand-drive? I have a U.S. 2000 Protege sedan with a Japanese Sport 20 front end and engine transplant. We cannot get the 170 hp out of the engine due to the OBD-II ECU. We are currently getting 150 or so. Are your ECU's OBD-II or OBD-I ? OBD-II are alot more restrictive on emmisions and the ability to modify the car. OBD-I isn't. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW. very nice looking car you have there!

Thanks
Jeremy

yep our cars are all right hand drive, I think our ECU is OBD I style, as we're not that strict on emissions here, we can remove one of the cat's without penalty at all...

I'm still undecided on what I'm going to do with my car performance wise, I really want to go NA, but I need to find a way to buy the parts directly from Japan...

That may be true. As I said I wasnt sure. All I know is that it isn't a direct bolt on due to the bottom not lining up correctly. If it did I would but one.
