K&N = Sh!t

seriously, im sick of them. 2 filters gone. 80$ a piece. i tighten them down until the screw pops, then tighten them until its about to pop again. STILL they fall off somewhere on the road. wtf. im beginning to hate cars. especially mine.

Jackelope Aug 23, 2005 05:55 PM

hmm... havent had that problem...

Phantom Cruiser Aug 23, 2005 06:09 PM

You mean they won't stay tight with the t-bolt clamps?

alex_aha Aug 23, 2005 07:55 PM

dude, you probably just got the wrong diameter filter, K&N, or rather its subsidiaries have a range of diameters you can buy.

Stueck Aug 23, 2005 08:30 PM

3 " pipe = 3 " k&n. no mater what clamps. i have a sock covering it fastened by a hairbow right now. i cant do anything else...

dudeondacouch Aug 24, 2005 11:05 AM

might want to try a regular old ring clamp instead of those fancy ones. also, make sure the filter and pipe are clean and not oily.

Stueck Aug 24, 2005 12:09 PM

a ring clamp, is that the one with the screw laying on the side and you jsut use a phillips head? thats what ive been using.

dudeondacouch Aug 25, 2005 10:12 AM

thats the one... i dont see why that wouldn't work. hmmm

is your pipe tapered?

hughes412 Aug 25, 2005 10:31 AM

I'm sorry. I'll give them back.

it has a bend about 4" from where the filter attaches. other than that, its just a straight 3" pipe to a 3" cone filter.

Short Ram Air Intake (w/2 filters)...I'm happy and it only costed me $35.
