Just installed CAI!

Me and my friend just finished installing my Injen RD CAI. And i tell you what, the people who said there engine roars weren't joking. I mean wow! It sounds like a beast now, and i love it. I appreciate the assistance with getting me the part Sir Nuke.

how difficult was it to install? how long did it take? thanks.....i am looking to get a ingen CAI intake for my 03' PR5.....

Keep an eye on the master brake cylinder. It tends to rub the first elbow. I had to change mine this week. All I did was use the factory one for that section, better clearance, same noise! may look cheesy but sounds good!

It wasnt hard at all to install, you just have to relocate your coolant resevoir, which is explained in the install instructions, and you have to take off the wheel well cover in order to put on the Air filter, which isnt too bad, its workable. It took about an Hour in the dark. Would have been faster if i did it during the day. But i just had to put it on. :D By the way, buy the injen intake from www.adventon.com they have it super cheap there

i will have to post some pics of it, so hopefully it doesnt rain today so i can. Question, unclebuz....the elbow on my intake doesnt touch the master cylinder. You might of had the injen elbow on backwards. Just a thought.

It might rub when your engine twists during acceleration and during hard braking with the master cylinder moves.

I don't think I installed it wrong as the angle is the same either way (I did try to reverse it). Mine's a Reactive shortie intake, don't know if the brand matters. Of course barking the tires every time I go to 2nd gear might cause it to jiggle a little. Still, I am very happy with the results. With the extra noise, it just feels faster.

well i checked and the Injen elbow that comes off of the Throttle body has a short bend and a long bend, if you put the short bend on the throttle body it will not touch or even get close to any of the components of the master cylinder. I have heard of problems like yours with the Reactive intakes. That is why i chose Injen, because everyone that i know that has one has had no problems with its installation.....oh and by the way one should not fear hydrolocking if the filter is in the wheel well because water does not affect an oiled filter unless you are sitting in high water which in that case even if you had a short ram intake your car would be screwed any ways. :D

AEM and Exhaust

I thought about the Ingen, but I opted for the AEM short ram intake. I installed it and had a local muffler shop build me a custom cat-back 2.25 pipes to a flowmaster.

I should have done this right when I bought the car. Anyone without exhaust and an intake, GO GET THEM. WOW the car sounds great and it pulls smooth and hard.

;)

pitlab, you should get a cat-back system. Plain muffler's are weak
