J-Spec Pistons ...

are there any drawbacks/ other things i'd need to install?

what would the gains be from the FS-ZE pistons on a 1.8L engine?

and of course, how much would it cost to install?

thanks!

I debated using those pistons until I went turbo but we do not have the quality gas that Japan does so the Pistons would not function to there top performance and the price to get them installed from my shop started to sore around the 1200 dollar mark(that was with balancing also though) Just food for thought.

Thanks for pointing tha tout Jesse but you would also have to have very good engine managment due to the higher compression and woudl have to watch out for detonation more. That install I was posting before was also for forged rod install and I was goign to port and polish the head myself while it was out of the car.

The installation of the pistons would be costly if you couldn't do all or at least some of the work yourself. The increased compression should provide a nice HP gain though. Several other engines in the US have compression equal or close to 10.5:1 including many Honda engines. Our high octane gas will work if the ECU's ignition timing isn't too aggressive.
