I have a question on this placement of the bypass. I imagine the bypass valve creates some turbulence in the air flow. Would this affect the MAF sensor? Especially the super-sensitive one in the 1.6L?

Thank goodness I don't have to worry about adding a bypass. Most of you guys get more rain in one hour than we get all year.

honestly i have no idea... i didnt even drive the car with the bypass on, it was just an experiment. if anyone knows that this is wrong, let me know so i dont blow something up.
i dont get a *ton* of rain like some of the southerners, but because of that our roads are very poorly designed for handling lots'o rain, mother nature can dump snow on all for 5 months straight and the roads will be beautiful, but as soon as a thunderstorm comes along, its best to stay inside.

So say after my "Igen filter" goes...and I need a new one do i have to buy Igen or can i slap a K&N filter on it? also when I buy the Igen intake dose it come with the spray stuff to clean it with?

you can replace the filter with a k&n.
the injen filter is cleanable using the k&n cleaner kit.

you can replace the injen filter with the k&n filter no problem. just make sure you get the right size. the injen intake does not come with the recharge kit for their filter. you will have to buy that separately. you don't need the recharge kit just yet cause you won't need to recharge your filter for about 30K miles. check it every 10-15K and you should be good. if you are in really dusty or dirty conditions, you might want to check it more frequently than that. what i will do is check it everytime i change my oil. i'm already down there anyway, mind as well look.

Well I live in Utah's West Deser, very dusty, and my friends clean there filters after every oil change...how much is K&N filter spray and where do i get it, so I have to buy a new filter after about 30K miles ??

Don't bother changing your filter to a K&N. It will make absolutely NO difference in performance or air filtration. Anyone who tells you differently has read too much K&N marketing propaganda!

no...thats the point of the recharger kit, so you never have to buy a new filter, you just clean and reuse your existing filter.

what is a recharger kit, sorry to sound dumb but is it the spray??

if you go to the link that Scarmiglio posted there are two kits. the top one is a spray oil, the bottom is just a bottle that you apply your self, both come with spray cleaner. the site describes the cleaning process pretty well, but what you do is spray the filter down with the spray cleaner, then apply the oil from the aerosol can or bottle, depending on which kit you bought.
