i was just skimming through the whole thread so i might have missed it, but what kind of gains are we talkin about?
:shift:

azrakain Apr 14, 2002 10:39 PM

no claims have been made from what I know. From the new exhaust information I have read on here I would think decent gains. I would like Jesse to make the predictions about that though. He knows his shit from what I can tell when it comes to exhausts. Or he is awesome at making me think he knows something......

ok when i went on nopi the first time they didn't have pics of the headers. so went back there today to look at them and there are pics. so i was just wondering if that meant they are ready? Also isn't our primary cat after our "shorty" headers. IMHO it looks like the same set up so these will NOT elimate the first cat. But im not sure. Anyone know?

vibrantvivid Apr 21, 2002 09:12 PM

will these headers work on the protege 5. i really want to make sure before i buy them. the nopi site dosent have shit on there for the p5 alot of stuff is under the regular protege though. why is that?

chdesign Apr 21, 2002 09:44 PM

Actually the header picture they have on the site is just a generic picture. That is actually a header for teh B series Honda engine from the looks of the flange as that is definatly not a F engine flange.

vibrantvivid Apr 21, 2002 09:47 PM

do you know if the header will work on my p5? i just want to be sure or does anyone one have a site for hp racing?

Chumpman Apr 21, 2002 10:29 PM

yup... http://www.hpracing.com/
but their site sucks crap and doesn't even show that they even make a fitment for ANY pro, nevermind specifically the P5...

Chumpman Apr 21, 2002 10:37 PM

k, I just emailed HP Racing, so hopefully they'll get back to us with the verdict soon!

vibrantvivid Apr 22, 2002 09:25 AM

i emailed them last night. hopefully we will get som good useable info in the next few days!

99proES Apr 22, 2002 12:52 PM

thanks for email them guys hopefully we get a response soon.

Anyway, if im not mistaken the P5 has the exact same engine has the pro 2.0L. so i believe it would fit.

zeus Apr 22, 2002 04:30 PM

I emailed both HP and NOPI a while ago, and all I got was the following from NOPI –

“They are not available at this time and we don't have dimensions on them at this time either. Sorry about that. NOPI”.

HP never replied.

I was just visiting NOPI again at work today, looking at the PIAA fog lights for the P5, and noticed the pics of the header. The two sets shown aren’t even the same, and they certainly aren’t for a Protégé. BTW, the fogs with black mesh housings, crystal lens and gold beam look sweet. I may have to get a set.

HP Responds!

k guys, here's what HP had to say:

Yes, the new Protégé header is in production and will also fit the 2.0 Prot5. Give us some time, you wont be sorry! We are trying to get the most Hp's possible out of the header. Thanks for your interest in HP Racing products.

I'm assuming that means the one on NOPI right now won't fit, but they're gonna come out with a fitment real soon... :dunno:

eeterp Apr 22, 2002 05:25 PM

it will fit any 2.0L protege and possibly the 1.8L (99-00) cars. nopi just jumped the gun and listed a header that has not yet been produced. HP racing is still in R&D for ANY protege headers. It should be out at the end of May/early June.

azrakain Apr 22, 2002 07:39 PM

I speak with HP almost every week. When I called a few days ago they said the second week of May it will be available. check this thread for information about the header: http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...5&pagenumber=1

zeus Apr 25, 2002 03:22 PM

So azrakain, are you saying it's time to throw down the card with NOPI? Cuz I'm sure the first production run will be limited a few dozen sets at the most.
