High Flow intake pics
 
They installed my air intake today. It looks good and sounds great. The advantage to this system is you can bury the intake scoop in water and not screw up the motor. If you check the 3rd pic you can see the scoop behind the grill to catch the incoming air. This kit will be availible soon, I will post prices when I get them.

ida know...looks like a cross between an aem bypass and some dryer hose...if the air is coming through the hose then where is the element..inside??? and then the air draws thrugh the sides if it burys itself in water it draws from the engine bay??? if this is the case this wont flow any more air than a stock intake with a k & n drop in....and it was already determined that a bypass will eliminate any gains from a CAI...again I'm just guessing how this works,correct me if im wrong

This look a little strange, Yes it is getting a mixture of colder air and hot engine air, but it is no better then having the box on the car. If you take the overall cai diameter and then take the air filter surface space and then subtract the amount of the cold air your still sucking more hot air then cold. air travels at the easiest point and breaks away where its harder to get thru.
How does it sound?

Good concept, butthe filter can't be under the hood if you expect to get any significant gains.

This looks cool, but it's actually a pretty poor design. Any of the psi created by the ram-air is being lost when the pressure gets to the filter. At high speeds and low rpm's (bottom of 4th or 5th gear), it's probably forcing air out the filter instead of into the throttle body. One more thing, dryer hose (or any flexible, textured hose like that) is very restrictive and slows down the air flow. The speed of the air is almost as important as the amount. If you create a solid pipe design with a filter on the end that tapers down from say 3 or 4 inches at the filter to 2 or 3 inches at the throttle body, and place the filter in an area where it can get cold air and lots of it, and maybe even somewhere where it can get a ram (inside the bumper with some holes in it or something) You'll notice a huge difference. But you'd probably notice a small improvement if you remove the dryer hose and just use the short-ram because they'll be no loss through the filter (when air is being forced out, it can't suck air in).
