Re: heat shield /splash guard
Mitch @ Protege5online.com can hook you up, it'll cost you $50.
I still have one for sale on the for sale page, if you don't mind a used one. Check it out here if you're interested. |
yeah sure i buy it from u?
|
its a waste of money....don't buy it.....that is unless you have taken your inner fender wells out and the filter is exposed....as it is....the filter is totally shielded where its installed...and NOTHING can splash onto it....and it certainly doesn't need a heat shield either.

Maybe so but then you can it put it on your liost of mods. Of course I wouldn't know because I got screwed outta mine by that website.

i guess its extra protection for me b/c when it rains ill be scared to drive but i have to its my only car. now i know the bypass is a waste of money u lose all your power but what if some water got on the filter if i had a heat shield it wouldnt have gotten on their plus it doesnt take away power
|
don't buy it
The Injen CAI air filter is down in the fender in front of the front tire. The bodywork keeps anything from splashing up into it. Furthermore, there is very little space in there for a splash guard -- even less space to get a wrench up there to install it, unless you take your whole fender off.
I didn't know any of this when I bought my CAI, so I ended up with a splash guard that I don't use. Wanna buy mine? :) |
sure anyone one with a splash guard pm me with the price

It just struck me the other day how when I washed my car, the place where the Injen filter would be was wet. Would this affect anything, hosing the car, and then the filter getting wet? Also, might soaps or other chemicals harm the filter? I really don't wanna waste my money on any splash guards or heat shields or bypass valves.
