are the focus & prot. 2.0's the same?
 
are these two engines the same? because I was wondering if the performance parts for the focus would work on our cars.?

Nope. Nothing will fit between the two.

Not at all, the engine specs may sound simlar but they are two totally different engines. The FAQ has more info about the two I believe...

I wish they were. There's a lot more parts & info out there for the Ford 2.0ltr Zetec, not to mention the Focussport head pkg that pumps out almost 160 hp to the wheels (N/A) for only $2000usd. :(

Are you sure? I thought the base Protege's and Foci would be getting Mazda's new 2.0L as the base engine. The one in the J-spec Mazda6 base model.

this is correct, the borexstroke:displacement is actually diffrent between the 2
