Flywheel/Clutch Recommendations?

Anyone have any idea where I can get a good lightweight flywheel & heavy duty racing clutch? Also, if anyone has information on what weight flywheel to get for better acceleration and if anyone has one please tell me how it feels. I want to know if I will feel a difference before I drop a load of cash...
Thanks all! :bounce:

I'd wait for clutchmasters, just my opinion

oh...

you mean wait for this one....

...that's been out and about for quote some time!?! this fits the trannies on 2.0l 2001+ pros. the obvious choice of flywheel would be the fidanza they have in their kits. $500 is not bad at all for these kits.

So I assume the Fidanza Flywheel is about 9 pounds like the Mazda Motorsports one? I just emailed RR racing about it, I guess I will find out. Sounds like a plan once my clutch starts to go.

Just for sh!ts and giggles I called up my dealer and asked him how much it would cost to do a clutch replacement. After labor and parts it costs $800 before taxes!! Damn! Talk about taking an arm and a leg!

With $800 I could get the Fidanza Flywheel/Clutchmaster clutch kit, and for an extra $100 (which would pay for the tax/shipping on both) I could get the Injen CAI!

Then all I would have to do is buy my buddy who works at an auto shop a case of beer to use the shop lift and shop tools. The case which we will no doubt consume during the process. :chug:

"Hi, its about 9 lbs. I have clutches and flywheels in stock for the 2.0L

Rafi"

Got the email back. Looks like the Fidanza flywheel is 9 lbs. Half the weight of the stock 2001 ES 2.0 flywheel.

that is correct. the MMS one is 15 lbs., only 3 lbs. lighter than stock.... kind of a waste of money if you ask me. [no dis intended to those who have it.]

I purchased the Fidanza flywheel and ClutchMasters stage 1 clutch kit from Rafi a while back before we found out it wouldn't fit the smaller F type transaxle in the '99-'00 Protege's bellhousing. The parts look great and the Fidanza flywheel is definately lighter than the MazdaSpeed chromoly flywheel since it is aluminum. I still have the pair brand new in the original boxes if anyone's interested.
