I hope so, cuase I just bought one!
|
yeah... i was wondering why fidanza would make the friction surface a little bigger/wider than the clutch disc???
how can i xplain...the disc itself matches up perfect with the f-surface on the inside...its just the f-surface is wider than the disc on the outside by bout 7.5mm all the way around... make any sense? |
damn yall make me want a flywheel for my 1.5L
I feal so damn left out ,,, my clutch is 200mm also Bruce    |
Jeremy, did you swap transaxles with the engine? If not, so far it sounds like the F25M-R transaxle in our '99-'00 1.8L Proteges uses a smaller input shaft and flywheel/clutch disc than the G15M-R in the '01+ 2.0L Proteges. I need to call around and verify this cause I've seen conflicting information. :dunno:
Originally posted by eeterp Eric, Just so I have this straight, are you saying that the protege's with swapped FS-ZE engines can use the 225mm Findanza flywheel? |
I confirmed it with SR motorsports and Tri-Point. The '96-'00 Protégés use the F25M-R transaxle, which uses a smaller input shaft and flywheel/clutch disc than the G15M-R transaxle used in the '01+ 2.0L Protégés. I also found out that at least two of the motor mounts, and the clutch release cylinder are different also. The G15M-R appears to be longer than the F25M-R, so the engine in the '01+ Protégés appears to be moved slightly towards the passenger side of the car. This brings up the possibility that the transaxles require different drive axles also. If so, a transaxle swap would require more parts than an engine swap. Damn, anyone with a '01+ 2.0L want to buy a brand new Fidanza 9lbs aluminum flywheel and Clutch Masters stage 1 clutch?
|
where can you buy the findanzda flywheel anyone?? and how much does it weigh?
|
Try :
RR Racing It weighs about 8LBS, and costs me $290. That rate was only from Feb. 11-22. I think the price has gone up now. |
I have one for sale along with the ClutchMasters stage 1 clutch kit. I bought them from Rafi before I found out they wouldn't fit my '00 ES. They're both brand new in box, so I'd like to sell them for the same price Rafi (RR racing) has them for. I have a post up in the For Sale section.

UPDATE:
I will be receiving my Fidanza Flywheel hopefully Wednesday.:D |
what about the venerable 1.6??:dunno:
*had to fix a typo |
i got mine from www.ptuning.com - looked like all the mazda appl (xcext miata) are on sale right now for $350...
also, for you guys that would like em for your car, fidanza will custom make - it seems like somewhere i read they need 10? people to commit in order to produce them...their site is www.aluminumflywheels.com |
How much would it cost to have someone install one of those flywheels, or how much skill do you have to have to do it. I guess by me asking obviously means I shouldn't even attempt something like this on my own huh?
|
You are probably right :D ...
It will cost the same labor as a clutch job would. Trust me...you want something like this done RIGHT the first time. |
I think the 1.6L Protege uses the same 200mm flywheel and clutch that the 1.8L uses.
