crankcase, mini breather question
 

I was just wondering if n e one has installed one of these... what did u do with the extra hole that goes into your intake?

did you just not use it and sealed up the opening ?

or

add a crankcase filter to both the engine and the intake ?

does this harm the engine at all?

There really isn't any good reason to even consider doing this. Removing one (or both) of the crankcase breather hoses will just compromise the effectiveness of the car's PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system, which removes nasty, harmful blowby vapor from the crankcase. Leaving one hose in place and installing a breather on the other hole will create an open crankcase ventilation system, which is not as good as a PCV system and will reduce power because of increased buildup of blowby. Although PCV systems were originally added for emissions reasons, they actually INCREASE power. An emission system that's actually good- shocking, isn't it? :D

To address the other ideas in your post...
a) Plugging one hole in the crankcase will make the engine not ventilate at all until pressure builds up to the point that the engine will start puking oil out of the remaining vent hole. The pressure will often blow off the breather filter. Very bad.
b) Plugging both holes will make pressure build up so much that it blowby gas will start pushing back up past the piston rings, hurting power. Eventually, the pressure buildup will become so severe that the engine will "self-ventilate"- usually by blowing various engine gaskets, making the engine leak lots of oil in various places. Even worse.
c) Installing a breather on the intake hose will freak out the EFI because the air going into the filter will bypass the MAF sensor. This will cause unpredictable drivability problems, probably reducing power and turning on the MIL. Also very bad.

let's not forget it blows up the oil seals when plugged up.... nasty shit everywhere man!

the PCV system is a push-pull system... air is pushed out from the crankcase to the hole... it is connected back to the intake system..... the intake system sucks the rest of it out... the oil/fuel fumes and other crap gets burned.... shit is already atomized... which means hydrocarbon emissions if you vent it... bad idea... if you burn it, you create useful power... not only cleaner, better performance!
