Hello again my friends.
I have a Protegé 2000 1.6L. and i would like to know the apropriate reading of CO (carbon monoxide) and HC (hidro carbures) al IDLE before the catalitic converter.
I understand if it is to low i have to enrich fuel/air ratio, but i do not know the correct values.

if you engine were running perfectly both your HC and CO would be zero. HC is unburned fuel and CO is a byproduct of incomplete combustion.
are you thinking of CO2 and O2? if your O2 is high you are running lean. if CO2 is low you have incomplete combustion also.

your best tuning aid would be an air/fuel ratio guage. they simply connect to your O2 sensor.
