Clutch fluid

How do you check its level? Or is this also a dealer scam, and it uses brake fluid? 'Course, the manual is silent on that...

your clutch uses the same brake fluid that your BRAKES do. in fact...if you will go out to your car...lift the hood....look at the bellhousing on the front, nearest the radiator, and you will find the slave cylinder for your clutch...follow the hydraulic line back...it goes over to the body and then along and under the battery holder....after follow it and it comes out and over to the firewall in through....if you feel with your hand you will see there is the back side of the clutch master cylinder there with another line coming off if it....and it comes up and connects to the bottom/drivers side of the BRAKE FLUID RESEVOIR. this is where your clutch hydraulic system gets any additional fluid from....

SO....to check the level of your clutch's hydraulic system.....you just check the level of the cars brake system.....they are one and the same....at least as far as the reservior is concerned.

Thank you! :)
F...ing dealer scams! My service menu says they check clutch AND brake fluid separately.

So, this "redline" stuff people talk about, it would then technically be a brake fluid, correct?

What is the exact name and manufacturer?

Thanks again.

For the most part, when people talk about Redline, they are usually referring to the gear oil/transmission fluid in the transaxle itself. This is completely different from brake fluid. Seeing as how Redline is a fluid-oriented company, they do most likely have a brake/clutch fluid I would guess.

In short, the clutch shares fluid with your brakes, but the transaxle fluid (basically what the gears sit in) is different.
