Check Engine Light after CAI install
I installed a CAI, and a week later, the check engine light comes on.
just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else? Going to get my friend to put it on his computer to see what it's fussing about. |
is the MAF pointing the right direction?? The MAF re-connected?? no vaccuum leaks? crankcase ventilation hooked up snugly?? Did you reset the ECU>??
yes, yes, no leaks, yes snug, no...
how do you reset the ECU. another friend mentioned doing that, but was not sure how. thanks for the quick reply. |
disconnect our megative terminal....step on the brakes....wait 20 seconds and reconnect everything....viola!
easy enough, friend thought you had to turn the key to "on" w/ negative terminal disconnected, or something, but he wasn't sure..
soo.. 1. disconnect negative terminal 2. step on brakes (don't have to hold?) 3. wait 20 seconds ... viola! |
Yup, easy as 1-2-3.
If that doesn't work, double-check all of the above and get back to us. |
4. reset all radio stations. i hate that part the most.
in the future please do a search...mods and members have answered this question MANY,MANY,MANY(did I say many ?) times :nono:

make a gasket?!?!? woah this is new, if you dont mind me asking, how do you do that?
just buy some foam....the maf doesn't seat properly on these intakes and it sucks in weird air quantities and throws off the reading.
just put some foam in front of the MAF?
lol jesus, you will more then likely have the CEL on forever, and to make a gaskey, go buy a bike tube, and cut it to fit the MAF hole on your intake.
here are the seal directions
