Camshaft is in!
Well, it's done. I cannot drive car yet because I didn't torgue anything properly-stores are closed and I don't have torgue wrench. Yesterday I got wasted after work and didn't buy it:)
It is 2.5 hour job even for DIY-er. Trick is to keep timing belt in place and have somebody help you hold cam sprokets. I zip tied cam belt to sproket and tensioners would absorb any temporary slack(I doubt there was any) to keep it on crankshaft pulley. Everything else is simple bolt in job, excercising some care not to burr anything and not using hammer to drive camshaft in place:) Alex |
Post some thoughts on the powerband (drivability) when you get a chance...... ;)

Yo holms.....
Give up the ghost! Throw me a bone here.... I'm die'n. :p
Actually, I bought the J-spec cam from another board member... should be here any day now. I'm geeked! Still, if you get a chance, post up some thoughts (read "butt dyno") on the new bump stick. Thanks, Jim |
