CAI problem

Hi,

I have tried to clean up the glass eye of the mass air flow sensor. however, the engine hesitatation still can't be eliminate, after I installed the CAI. I really want to fix the problem. Can anyone give me a suggestion. If the problem can not be solve, I want to sell my Injen cold air intake (for 1.6L engine).

as it have been said before... you need to make a good seal around the MAF sensor... that will fix it

I did that too.

glass eye? Are you talking about the heated wire element?

if you're absolutely sure that there's no leaks anywhere from the MAF sesor all the way to the throttle body (which WILL cause the engine to miss), then there is another problem causing it. When you install the intake and the engine is receiving more air, it needs to compensate with more fuel, and more spark. Try a fuel system cleaner. If you use shitty gas (ARCO) like me, then this is your problem. If that doesn't work, check your plugs, and wires. When I made my short ram, I had a small leak where my return line went into the tube near the throttle body. When I fixed that, the missing went away for a couple of weeks, then returned. That time some STP fuel system cleaner fixed that right up. If none of this helps, then it's possible that the MAF sensor was damaged when it was being re-installed, or 'cleaned'
