auto tranny slpping...
 

would anyone know why my auto tranny is now slipping? When i just try to cruise in traffic, the RPMs shoot up but the car doesnt go anywhere. I checked the fluid level and i checked the oil and both are full and nice. The OD light was also flashing when it happened yesterday. I'm quite irritated because this is the protege that likes to eat through parts.. does anyone know why my tranny is doing this? Also, the car has only 41,000 miles on it... I dont know why also but my car has been starting out in second gear now also once in a while.. its been put away iin the garage until i see whats up now.

Have you checked the condition of the tranny fluid, like for colour and smell.

yea tranny fluid and everything is fine.. just replaced it two weeks ago. I had my tranny taken apart by my g/f's dad who works at the mazda dealership in the service department and i have stripped gears and some other crap. Wow mazda is high quality stuff! hah not! This dealership has completely stopped doing tranny's because too many 99-2000 protege's come in with these problems, their general consensus... sell it.. so oh well..

yeah had that same problem before and have it now , i had my tranny replace twice , ill look in to my paperwork and see if i find it it says what was wrong.the dealer was pretty cool about it
