Auto Burnout

Anyone know how to induce burnout in a car with automatic transmission? I got into a disscussion with a few friends, and they all have different ideas on how it's properly supposed to be done. I don't think there's a proper way. BTW, we're talking about normal road conditions, dry pavement. And we're not trying to kill the car either, so "Neutral Drop" is out of the question.

A friend of mine said you could spin the tires by holding the break down and flooring it. The way I see it is that brake=stop, and gas=go, so I don't see how using both would yeild a burnout.

Anybody want to share any ideas on how to cause a burnout?
Post them here.

1)Stop car
2)Pull emergency brake
3)Mash gas

You are either goint to spin the front tires, drag the rear tires or doing nothing at all as you may not have enough power....

If that doesnt work put in rev roll rev fast and then shift to drive

I think you are going to tear your car up. Modifications to create horsepower will create wheel spin. Why didn't you get a stick?

He asked how to do a burnout, not how to destroy an automatic transmission  This technique will trash your tranny so fast it's not even funny.

Rodslinger has it right, except that after pulling up the e-brake, I would hold down the brake pedal, rev it up to ~4000 rpm, then release the brakes while flooring the gas :)

Fact: Burrnouts in one wheel drive cars look pathetic at best.

Maybe a picture if only taken from one side could pass.

:D
Stocker.

In my pro i push the brakes to the floor then rev to 2k then punch the gas but at the same time release the brake works everytime at a dead stop on dry pavement

yeah we dont have a limited slip differential so onle one wheel is goin to spin. If you can even manage to get the weed wacker engine to spin the tire it prolly will be pretty sad.

You might try pouring soap and water or even very little oil/gas to induce the slip then you will eveaporate whatever you lay down.

considering I haven't touched an Auto...all i gotta say is

you shoulda got a manual transmission!!!!

hehe...I luv doing it in my 99pro 5 spd

stick it into first....at a stop....hold down clutch...hehe...rev it to about redline (doesn't have to be redline...but i like it redline hehe :D !!!) then at redline...let go of clutch and push gas...hehe....the wheel spin is awesome!!!! I do it like every night that i go out and am on a back road!!! hehe...

or you could stick it in first and quickly let go of clutch, and floor the gas...which will get you a good short one

I know this thread is for inducing a wheel spin with an auto....but as I haven't driven an auot...I just posted the next best thing hehe....doing it with a manual!!!

or i didn't have to post
and all of you probably know how to do it with manual neway...hehe

i just wanted to share my limited knowledge that i do have....at least I'm trying lol

do brake launches (holding break and stepping on gas in an auto) hurt anything? i drive a first gen. just wondering if holdin the brake and steppin on the gas will actually do any type of harm to ur car...

I know that this way means death I just think its funny when someone with an auto 120 hp car want to do burn outs. How about you just dont do them at all? IMO you shoud have at least a stick as well as 160 - 1,000,000,000 hp before attempting a burn out.
