APEXi S-AFC II settings

Does anyone have what the settings for a APEXi S-AFC II should look like? I have a 1999 es, with a Garret t25 at 6psi

you already have a turbo kit? Last week you were still deciding what to do with your car, now you're boosted?? That was fast.

No, the ApexI stuff will not work on the car without major modification.

franceschovitch December-15th-2004 02:30 PM

I don't actually have the stuff, its on its way tho, that's y I'm askin before it gets here. What kind of makon mods?

Roddimus Prime December-15th-2004 02:38 PM

makon mods?

The piggy back controllers like the ApexI do not work on our ecu's due to the closed loop mode. it blocks out all incoming signals and runs it's own pre-set map. Only way around this is with standalone. I'm using the Haltech F10X from hiBoost.

seeing as a Haltech F10X is more than 1000 are there any somewhat cheaper solutions, would having the stock protege ecu reflshed to like mazdaspeed specs be a way around that? I need a way to get more fuel to my engine as soon as my turbo goes in which will be in the coming months after i get my tax returns....this is getting pricey quick =(

Roddimus Prime January-12th-2005 11:39 PM

stock msp ecu's are garbage and should only be used as a band-aid and last case scenario.

The F10X is right around $950 or so last I checked....and worth every penny. (IMO).

You cut corners on EMS and you'll be buying yourself an engine faster than you'll want to.

Tyrael6666 January-12th-2005 11:49 PM

alright then ill cut out the MPI tuner idea, i guess i just gotta dig deeper and pull some more cash outta my ass for this thing lol, i knew i got in over my head but jeez. is the haltech easy to install? and what else am i gonna need besides better injectors to help it run at its best ability, i may as well soak as much outta this mod as i can since its not going to be cheap in the first palce.

Tyrael6666 January-12th-2005 11:50 PM

o and if u gotta link to where you saw it for only 950 please share lol cause i cant find it under 1000

Roddimus Prime January-13th-2005 11:06 AM

You won't need larger injectors with the Haltech until you get the motor forged. The stock fuel system will provide enough fuel to blow the bottom end!

p.s. Protege Garage used to sell it in the $900 range. I'll speak with Juan about carrying these on my website and here on the forums.

Roddimus

didn't
you used to run a haltech for 'fuel only' that got around
the fuel map problem
...or is that he same one

(i heard also someone sells an AEM ecu w/cam gear)

Tyrael6666 January-13th-2005 04:59 PM

well today i maanged to find a shop carrying haltech F10x systems at 900, but i cant even imagine what the tax will coem out to be..yikes... keep me updated about the haltech u might be carrying soon so i can save on tax lol.

Roddimus Prime January-13th-2005 05:14 PM

make sure what all you get for $900.......mine came with the unit, harness, all new sensors, 2 bar MAP, base software.

Tyrael6666 January-13th-2005 05:26 PM

is the narness entirely vehicle specific? or is it universal, i know the shop had the software sensors etc etc and htey had a few in stock which is why im wondering if its a psecific harness so i know whether or not i need them to special roder if i dont get one forom u or somewhere else on the internet.
