Apexi N1 Muffler installed

got the muffler today and went to a mufflershop to get catback pipeing for it, sounds nice, deeper tone but not as deep as the mazda speed... dunno if there are any performance gains since i was on E and didn't want to abuse my car... i'll get pictures later!

nice pics man

I can't tell from the pics, does it stick out to far or anything, and how does it fit in the pre-cut on the bumper

Good to hear it all went well man! How about the gauge pod? ;) Now you an I should have a go down Crowchild... Mazdaspeed Vs. Apexi. Pretty evenly matched I'd say, but remember, my door sills added 50HP! :p

pr5owner Sep 11, 2002 12:55 PM

naw your door sills are blue.. yellow ones at 50! blue ones are 25 :)

install shield: it fits kinda weird.. the guy at calgary muffler aimed the exhaust down a bit he said "it will allow the water moisture to drain out" whatever.. exhaust will push all that out but however there is less bends in the pipe if you do that, it sticks out about 1.75in. sounds well.. haven't listened to it from the back but it sounds like a miata from the inside.. if you have ever driven one.. LOL

Thanks for the reply...

I think they did a pretty good job installing it. Yeah I have heard of a lot of muffler shops that will angle the muffler down. The engine will blow any out when it is running, but any moisture inside can ruin the "stuffing" This is only true in non Stainless Mufflers. I am pretty sure the Apexi is Stainless all the way through (Not just the can) so it is sort of over kill.

maximum lenghth? huh? as long as you want? what do you mean?

Fobiah Sep 13, 2002 07:12 PM

pr5owner,

I asked that because there are just so many different lengths and sizes that a exhaust comes in. I don't want it to be too short or too long or even to wide, because it just won't fit. Am I right? Or, am I going about this in the wrong way? Educate me:D :D
