Apexi N1 Muffler

Another quick question. Does anyone have the N1 Muffler on there P5? If so, what kind of performance and sound did it produce? Thanks a lot for the info.

Hey, does anyone out there have this muffler on there car???

Pirana Jan 28, 2003 10:19 PM

I do, check my webpage. Its not too loud, with a deep sound.

yeah check my page, its not loud at all, unless your going 150kph but wind noise is just as bad. the sound is pretty good, not ricer like, not loud or anoying. highly recommended with full catback exhaust

Cool, thanks for the info. I don't want anything real loud, just a nice throaty sound is what I'm after. I think I'm gonna get the N1 soon. Thanks again.

does anyone know of a site where you can actually listen to what the different mufflers sound like?

this might help or give you some ideas, but they're all miatas

IMO, unless you are getting the whole cat-back, it isn't worth the $$ for the N1. It will not produce any more power than another one and there are many mufflers out there with comparible sound. For the price, you should go with the RB one from the dealership. There is a place that has them on sale now.

This is an axle back for about the same price as just the N1 muffler. That price is actually high. I saw a place selling it for $165, but can't find the link. Anyway, it is all really up to you. If the N1 is the one you like then get. ;)

Now that is an impressive rap sheet you have done to your P5. What actual improvement have you gain with those mods.

purePro5 Feb 3, 2003 07:38 PM

Well, it is a completely different car now. It responds immediately when I ask it to and it brings a lot more juice when it does. I couldn't deal with it stock, and it is just a hobby of mine to tinker with it. I will never be satisfied. It is really fun to drive. I also, ran out of room, and there are many more mods that I have done. I will keep those a secret though.

As a side note. Most of the HP gains were done for just the cost of materials. I noticed way more improvement from a little porting and matching than I did from any one mod that I bought over the counter.
