anyone whent to aftermarket ecu yet???

i want to know if anyone has gone to an aftermarket ecu yet
because swaping the cas and shit seems usless if we cant set the ecu for it. and as far as ive read this shit ecu causes problems in every engine upgrade worth while. so has anyone done a full ecu replacement????:D

Seeing how most replacement ECU's (reffering to stand alone) start at over 1 large, you won't run into many people on this forum taking this route yet...

A guy by the handle of Traveler purchased a Greddy E-manage and magically sold it before using it becuase his wife did not find the investment cost effective...Although that thing can be purchased with everything you need for around $700, but it is more of a programmable piggy back, still utilizing the stock ECU...Some other guys have purchased similar setups such as Unichips and I have heard mixed feelings about them...

Personally to me, some Republican Economic Reform proposals make more sense than a FS-DE's North American ECU...I have heard a lot of different things as far as its open/closed loop transfers etc...With that said, nothing you do to our ECU will be easy, simple, or cheap...We do not get the luxury of "chips"...

imo, ecu upgrades on NA cars are almost useless. it puts too must strain on the car while gaining a mild 20-30 crank hp gain.
i would get a turbo charger or nitrous kit.

whereas on turbo cars, easily acheive 30-40wheel hp gain SAFELY with piggybacks.
