afr gauge splices into which wire on the o2 sensor?

title pretty much sums it up- also what would be a good power source for the gauge?

Tap the signal wire from A/F gauge into Pin#60 coming from your ECU. It's the Pink/Blue wire.

Your ecu in the protege5 is located behind the passenger side floor panel. you will haveta remove the carpet to reveal the metal plate held by 4 screws (10mm socket will do the trick). And behind the plate you will find the ECU and the ECU harness... Find Pin #60 and splice into there.

As for the power source... you can tap into any Ignition +12v either under your ignition harness or fuse panel....

Any idea wich one it is on the O2 Sensor though?

i taped my A/F gauge to my ignition so the car has to be on for the gauge to be on, and for the signal wire i hooked onto the pink wire comming off the o2 sensor in the engine bay but the damn thing changes wire color!!!!!!! WTF! it goes into some sort of heat shrink and changes color.. so just be careful with that

does your a/f gauge rapidly cycle back and forth most of the time? the autometer web page said it might do this, (which "might" be normal), and if anyone elses does this - i have one question- How the HELL does anyone make any sense out of it just bouncing back and forth????

when you go through the burn cycle and expell exhuast your o2 sensor reads how much excess o2 there is, and the gauge should read rich since these cars burn rich from the factory.

when there is just enough o2 to burn the gas injected it should read stoich. (means balanced reaction) ,

when its in the process of burning there is a point where there is no exhaust because the gas is still being burned, so it goes to lean.

if you push your rpms up past 4.5K RPM then it should read rich since exhaust is going out so fast the gap in between where there is no exhaust is too small to be read by the o2 sensor.

I've seen Em's in action, and after awhile it just kinda moves back and forth kinda like a "demo" mode on a stereo.

Just curious, but what's the point of an A/F gauge if you don't have a turbo?

yeah thats exactly what it looks like, just bounces back and forth not telling me a damn thing... the reason for getting it?- it looks pretty, and i wanted to have a clue w/ whats going on while i spray...it was only 20 from a buddy of mine, so i said why not-........when it is bounceing back and forth, what is my reading? is the peak of the bounce what m reading is? am i better off just guessing?
