The install is very easy, remove the old intake box and install the CAI , it should only take a 1/2 hour or so..

Hey FC3s Boy,
I'm been reading quite a bit about air intakes over the past couple of months. I have a yellow 2003 P5 with an auto. Anyways, I came from a '98 Taurus with the 24V DOHC V6 engine and I've been trying to decide how to get better pickup in my P5. The only concern I have about the Injen CAI is picking up water. I live in Wisconsin, where it occasionally downpours and the roads aren't always the best and it snows a lot so when it melts there's more puddles on the road. Have you had any problems picking up water with your Injen CAI? Do you have the bypass valve? I heard it kills the horsepower gains. how much increase in power have you been able to feel? Thanks, Ben you can email me at bperthel@yahoo.com |
It wasn't too hard at all to install. The only part that was difficult, or better said, confusing, was the coolant reservoir. It has to be relocated to get the intake to fit properly. Other than that, it is pretty basic and simple. It's cool that you got a black one, I had to settle for a polished one.

Hey ben, I live out in san diego so it does'nt rain much here. if you look at where the intake is at it takes quite a large puddle to submerge the intake, I would say that if it rains a lot where you live it would be a wise choice to get the bypass valve just in case, it does'nt hurt performance with it installed. with the Intake it gives you a few extra ponies and seems to pull a lot harder on the top end. ...Chris
