AEM anchor bolt
 

The bolt anchoring the AEM pipe to the OEM air cleaner bracket has pulled away from rubber mount. Apparently bending the bracket up to create clearance put too much stress on the mount.

Has anyone had this problem and what did you do?

Two ideas:

1) Somehow glue the bolt to the rubber mount. What glue do I use?

2) Take the bolt off the other side of the rubber mount, drill a hole through the mount, and just have one long bolt anchoring the intake. (as opposed to the rubber mount with a bolt attached to each end)

What do ya figure?

Not sure what to do, but do something soon.

I know a dude who had a AEM intake on a Honda Accord, and the mount went missing on him. The bracket welded onto the intake vibrated apart eventually!

Mine busted off also! I used one of the rubber washers with the shinny sleeve off of the bottom of stock air box along with one of the bolts. It is a little stiffer ,but that is why that rubber shit broke off in the first place.:D

I have the AEM and the bolt is still on there. Mine didn't require any bending at all. Here is what my install looked like.

I've got the same install. The flexible portion of the driver-front brake line is sticking out too far and rubbing against the filter though. The small bend to the bracket SEEMED to be a much simpler solution than disconnecting and twisting the brake line.

I've got three zip-ties holding the anchor together right now untill I can find a suitable replacement. (sorry no pic, camera's busted)

Ya..that stainless hose sitting on the intake above the filter is rubbing the finish off of the aem.
