2002 Silver ES-GT?!

Just out of curriosity, can anyone tell
me what kind of acceleration the 2002 ES-GT car has from 0-60MPh? (sec.)
I wouldn't mind knowing, I test drove it a while back, and
I thought the acceleration felt a little, wimpy. But the car looks
alright either way. Also, can you tell me where I can get some
rice for this car? I don't plan on going to hard core with it and buying 1000's of dollars worth of performance parts. I just want cheap lil upgrades to make it look like a performance car, well, on the interior anyways. Any info on where I can get that kind of stuff in calgary would be greatly appreciated.
Thx!!!

in manual, the 0-100km/h is 10.4 according the the mazda site.
in auto it is 11.9...

what's a 2002 ES-GT?

130hp July-13th-2002 08:07 PM

the "GT" is a canadian package that makes the canadian ES equivalent to the US ES...
comes with spoiler, 16" alloy rims, 4 disc brakes, moonroof, ABS w/ EBFD, and AC.

damn, I did not know my car was THT slow! Well, I don't care because I will buy a new car in less than 1 yr from now.

On a G-Tech I make 0-60mph between 8.4-8.5 sec with my ES 2001 manual.

Most of the magazines have the Protege sedan in low 9 seconds......

Mazda's being VERY conservative with their numbers.

Thank God!!!

11.9 seconds is a huge differece between low 9's.
:p Thanks for putting my mind at rest!!!

yea those numbers from mazda are quite conservative. car and driver shows the p5 doing a 0-60 in 9.2 and 1/4mile in 17.2
the sedan should be around those numbers.

PatProtegeGT1 July-14th-2002 10:11 PM

With a few mods I make a 1/4 mile of 16.1.

ProtegeES July-15th-2002 09:27 PM

auto is about 1 sec slower
