2.0l knock sensor

well the car sticks to the road quite well now
but it shows how little 100whp is when you've increased grip

so...time to find more "GO"
i have an '01 2.0LX

1) is it true that it has NO knock sensor

2) can i add one

3) do i need one

4) what's this J&S UltraSafeGaurd knock controler

i'm looking at the potential of boosting a
built engine(not the stock internals...)and
pushing no more then 15psi max.... probably more like 8psi daily
but longevity is the goal
so i'm trying to cover the basics and build-in some insurance

as far as I know all proteges (3rd gens) have a built in knock sensor. The J&S is an auxillary unit that can work as either a guage to indicate knock or with a proper EMS can actually adjust timing and fuel when knock is present.

You can add the J&S if you're serious about knock prevention or you can just better fuel, less timing or less boost, or add alcohol injection, water injection, intercooler sprayer and a host of other accessories.

so i have plenty of options
to prevent knock and/or detonation

as always it will just come down to cost, i'm sure

cost and preference.
