Ractive makes the ones for the rear, or at least they they say so. They advertise as for Protege, Escort, MX3, but you are going to have to do a lot of modifications to get it in. As for the front, you can find it on Ebay for very cheap, and they are not that bad at all.

damn i hadda do alot of modifing to the front strut bar it was called a bomz strut bar and he said it would fit perfect hell no it didnt but its on now and it works good

Ive only found one front bar that goes in perfect. That was from procarparts.com.. And a back one isnt hard. Buy a bar off ebay, use the mounts on the back struts... the only problem you run into is that the cross bar is too short. So if you combine the mounts and a new longer bar.. theres your back strutbar...for pics check out my page.... http://ocdspeed.tripod.com

IMO, using the dremell to cut holes in the car, would riun the car's structure, but then you make it up by the strut bar, so I think of it as wasted time and energy. But I only think that way, because i have not driven your car, so I would not know the difference. I did like the difference with the front one, from procarparts.com, the car handles much better, and now I love the highway on and off ramps.

no it doesnt ruin the structure of the car... the amount needed to be trimmed has NOO effect on the car... believe me.... i almost thing my back helped more than my front. considering i accel through turns not brake.....

sorry, but what are strut bars for?

to balance the engine bay or soemthing?

thx

You must be a rookie, but you must know. Strut bar connects the front struts together with a metal bar, and that improves the car rigidity, thus your handling is improved a little. If you are planning to get one, its cheap, easy to install, and you will find out the difference, especially on the highway ramps. Good luck.

If I buy a front strut bar from Ractive, do they will fit perfectly into our 2nd Gen Protege or there have to modified first, like drilling more hole..?

Which one is better Guys, Ractive or strut bar from Procarparts...?

Thank you for the help... :blue:
