Rear disc brake adjuster.
 

I got a new adjusting gear from the dealership a few weeks ago and put it in last weekend. Well, the one that I took out was beat all to hell, and was causing my parking brake to stick. Well, When I put the new one in, it worked fine for a few days, and it now doing the same thing. I'm assuming that the gear inside the caliper that the adjuster meshes with probably has some fucked up teeth on it now. I'm sick of leaving my car in gear when I have to park on hills and shit.
My question is, If I take that adjuster gear out will that brake (left rear) stay in adjustment?? Is it going to fuck something upif I do??
Also, is there any way to fix the gear inside the caliper without having to get a rebuild kit??

There is an adjustment behind the caliper. It's an allen head. You can fine tune the e-brake/calipers. WARNING: Putting it too tight will make the caliper stick and possibly cause excesive wear and possibly fire. If you adjust there, and the problem persists check the e-brake cable inside. Take the center part of the console off ans try loosening the cable/nut inside.

I was asking if I took that adjuster out would it cause the parking brake on that wheel to become unadjusted or generally fuck shit up or not.
